Book of Daniel
After spending 20 years in a Kenyan refugee camp, Sudanese refugee Daniel struggles to find community in the United States. With limited interactions beyond his workplace, Daniel creates religious paintings to cope with isolation and deep trauma.
Director & Editor
Elodie Edjang is a video editor for Local Legend Films. She has a passion for documentary filmmaking. Elodie has secured internships at media organizations that emphasize social issues such as documentary non-profit Kartemquin Films and Australian current affairs television program Insight. In addition to her work at Local Legend Films, Elodie freelances as a documentary camera operator. She is the co-founder of Red Door Media Collective, a production based film collective. Elodie holds a Master of Fine Arts in Documentary Media from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts (Anthropology) and Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (Advertising) from the University of Georgia. During her free time she enjoys hula hooping, singing in her church’s worship band, and watching Youtube videos.
Sara Payne is a Chicago based artist and animator. She received her BFA from The School of the Art Institute Chicago in 2016 with a focus in film. Payne’s work has been presented on CAN TV in addition to film festivals such as ExFest, SAIC FVMA fest, and Big Shoulders. She works as a self- employed animator and art instructor and has contributed to two animated shorts as well as two feature films.
